VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN… HOW AND WHY…
You may be interested to know that
the term ‘vegan’ was coined by English woodwork teacher, Donald Watson, who founded the Vegan Society in 1944.
Whist vegetarians choose not to eat animals, vegans avoid all products associated with animals, including eggs, milk, honey and yoghurt as well as leather, fur, feathers, wool, silk, pearls and sea sponges, having a lifestyle that does not exploit any animal.
Vegans generally have ethical reasons for this approach but in many cases it is also seen as a health choice and we found some interesting claims about this in a a book by Dr Colin T Campbell, called ‘The China Study’.
